a step up tranformer to produce an arc and then using a transformer to step down and charge a mobile !! no wonder nokia got aquired . . . .this is NO WAY NEAR what a lightining is meant to be .. its NOT a sustained discharge like the one achived here using a transformer .. its a fraction of a sec discharge with massive power output . . . u need a 'sponge' to soak it up and then release it at a more consistent rate to make the energy usefull ... if anything the object of intrest should be a super high voltage capacitor and not a step down transformer.
