@Garcia: You have made me remember the history of how Carl Sagan managed to convince the NASA to reverse the Voyager and take a picture to the Earth

Carl Sagan was a great man -- he instilled so much enthusiasm into everything he did and -- by that -- set a lot of young people heading to careers in science and technology.

Apparently, the Messenger probe, currently orbiting Mercury was also taking a picture of the Earth, and Presumably Saturn, at about the same time. Poor Messenger. Cassini gets all of the glory.

Those images have got to be fakes- When you think about it, it's obvious- There hasn't been enough time for the film to be back from being processed!

LOL  Actually I was talking to my 18-year old son just the other day saying that when I was his age we used to take pictures using 35mm film (typically you would buy the film and load it into your own camera -- later we used disposable cameras).

You wouldn't know if the picture you had taken was good at the time -- that wa smuch later. You had to take the entire roll -- then go down to the drug store and leave your film with them. They couldn;r develop it there -- they sent it off to the main factory. It could take a week or more before you could pick up your prints.

Now with digital cameras (still and video -- standalone and in your smartphones) we are so used to taking and sharing images that we simply don;t think about it anymore.

Now you come to mention it ... look at the image in the blog above -- where did those big signs saying "Saturn" and "Earth" come from???
