I've been hoping to see more of these classes with a hands-on component. The idea of a few days up front and then a bit of a 'vacation' to get the board in hand sounds perfect! With fast shipping these days it's a natural.

Hope there is a big turn-out se we can see more of these!

Hi Max

As usual us plebs outside the US and Canada do not exist and we cannot get the free boards......

However your article does have a link where we can get to purchase a board for the course...however this just takes us to an EET page with a picture of the board.

Could you correct the link so we can get to where we can purchase one?  Thanks...

David Patterson, known for his pioneering research that led to RAID, clusters and more, is part of a team at UC Berkeley that recently made its RISC-V processor architecture an open source hardware offering. We talk with Patterson and one of his colleagues behind the effort about the opportunities they see, what new kinds of designs they hope to enable and what it means for today’s commercial processor giants such as Intel, ARM and Imagination Technologies.
