Central planning by these elites because they think technology “X” will win, please forgive my skepticism. Whenever some bureaucrat is going to spend my money(taxes) to invest in the future, watch out. Usually the group with the best lobbyist gets the funding. Look at the lead free solder initiative coming out of Europe. Stupidity at its finest and these are the type of technical initiatives that come out of these groups. I am sorry MP but I am not convinced that these technology groups are all that great. Countries with unemployment rates in excess of 15% (Spain) and economies on the brink of bankruptcy (PIGS) I wonder if this is a good model.

It is refreshing to see the leadership of EU not lose sight of investments into future technologies. The current economic climate may be challenging but lack of investments for future will make things even worse. MP Divakar
