Those images have got to be fakes- When you think about it, it's obvious- There hasn't been enough time for the film to be back from being processed!

Apparently, the Messenger probe, currently orbiting Mercury was also taking a picture of the Earth, and Presumably Saturn, at about the same time. Poor Messenger. Cassini gets all of the glory.

@Garcia: You have made me remember the history of how Carl Sagan managed to convince the NASA to reverse the Voyager and take a picture to the Earth

Carl Sagan was a great man -- he instilled so much enthusiasm into everything he did and -- by that -- set a lot of young people heading to careers in science and technology.

@Susan: Yet, some people may be beyond hope.

Oh, so cynical for one so young :-)

@Max, From what I've heard, everyone who has gone into space and seen the Earth below them has undergone a life-changing experience (even bigger that when I first discovered the power of beer).

Maybe for most people. Yet, some people may be beyond hope. I can see the jokes on Saturn now: is that really earth-shine or is that just so-and-so's (--insert favorite boviator's name here--) ego glowing?

@Susan: We really look very small from Saturn's perspective.

I woudl love to have a spaceship equipped with a "faster than thought" drive and to be able to zip around the solar system -- the Milky Way -- and the universe to just "see stuff"!!!
