GE just rolled the latest iteration of its Industrial Energy Management Solution – Power Management Control System Version 7 (PMSCv7.0). So what does this version provide? In a word: a better interface (OK, three words). The importance of the new interface is that the more you see, access, and analyze, the better the decisions you make.
The new version improves visualization and support for both larger and newer devices or device versions. It allows customers to remotely optimize the performance of the devices they use, which in turn delivers better asset efficiency and cost management.
By integrating disparate energy components,, and doing so visually, a baseline can provide intelligence and management capabilities well into the future. Peak demand periods can be dealt with more easily, and fast and informed decisions result from the visualization provided, benefiting problem determination and predictive maintenance.
GE's Power Management Control Systems are fully integrated end-to-end and highly customizable, allowing for monitoring, control, automation, cost allocation, and power quality. When the expanded elements of Version 7 are added, real-time graphical visualization of substation equipment status, energy trends, remote control, and automated responses to system conditions are a result.
