IP99 conference organizers issue call for papers

CMP Media Inc. (Manhasset, N.Y), publisher of Electronic Engineering Times, and Miller Freeman UK Ltd. (London), publisher of Electronics Times, have jointly announced the third annual Intellectual Property in Electronics Conference (IP99) and have issued a call for papers.

"IP99 will focus on the reality of IP today and on how design reuse-the methodological core of system-on-chip-can and will provide the urgently needed added-value product for the semiconductor industry," said Luke Collins, conference coordinator and editor-in-chief of Electronics Times.

The organizers of the event said next year's conference has been extended a day because of increased demand for information on system-on-chip design methodologies. IP99 will be held March 22-24 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif.

This year's conference, IP98, boasted more than 600 attendees, with nearly 800 in total attendance. Organizers believe IP99 attendance will grow by 20 percent.

In addition to announcing the conference, organizers have also issued a call for papers.

Interested parties should prepare a 200-word abstract for a 25-minute presentation. Abstracts are due to John Whitaker, business development director of Miller Freeman, or Steve Weitzner, publishing director for EE Times, by Nov. 30.

For more information on the call for papers or on conference registration, visit www.ip99.com or e-mail John Whitaker or Steve Weitzner.

Attendance fees are $250 for first-day admission only (the conference starts at 1 p.m.), $395 for one full day, $650 for two full days, or $750 for the whole two-and-a-half-day conference. Organizers will mail conference badges to those who register in advance.

IP99 is a sister conference to the European System-on-Chip Conference and Exhibition. It will be the fifth IP-related conference to be held in three years on two continents.
