LONDON Fenix Design Automation BV, an EDA startup founded in 2005, has launched two products aimed at quality assurance of IC design flows and is trying to recruit EDA software engineers.
These products are called AbSynth and CrossFire. According to the companys Web site AbSynth reads the critical path reports from static timing analysis tools and is able to assess the advance of timing closure. Crossfire checks the various views and formats that are created for standard-cell libraries in an IC design-flow.
Fenix (Eindhoven, The Netherlands) has received venture funding from Stimulus Venture Capital Funds which announced it had taken a one-third stake in the company on April 6, 2006.

Hein van der Wildt, well-known as a former past president and chief executive officer of Sagantec, has taken that role at Fenix. Chris Strolenberg, formerly vice president of product strategy at Sagantec, has been recruited as chief technology officer at Fenix. Johan Peeters, formerly in charge of application engineering at Sagantec, founded Fenix and serves the company as its application engineering manager.
Fenix is due to exhibit at the Design Automation Conference in San Francisco.
