Conference breaks attendance records

By Richard Goering

SAN FRANCISCO — The 35th Design Automation Conference (DAC), held June 15-19 in San Francisco, broke all previous records for visitor and exhibitor attendance at the conference. Show management said more than 20,000 total attendees came to DAC, compared to 17,500 last year.

Technical programs and exhibits-only attendance also hit an all-time high, with 10,500 attendees.

A record number of exhibitors also participated this year. A total of 231 exhibitors, including 31 in the "Silicon Village," were involved with this year's conference, compared with 185 last year and 164 two years ago.

The 36th Design Automation Conference is scheduled for June 21-25, 1999, in New Orleans.
