Altera opens IP unit

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Altera Corp. has created a new Intellectual Property (IP) Business Unit that will have comprehensive responsibility for marketing, applications, product planning and management of the Altera Megafunction Partner Program (AMPP) and Mega Core development functions.

Craig Lytle, senior director of applications and product planning, has been chosen to head this group and will assume the title of senior director, IP Business Unit. Altera recently announced a 64-bit PCI master/target function with AMPP partner Eureka Technologies, said to be the first of its kind for PLDs.
