Prototype now supports Altera architecture

BEAVERTON, Ore. — Prototype Solutions, a provider of rapid-prototyping hardware, has announced the availability of Altera Flex 10K component cards as an option for the Standin SX Rapid Prototyping System family. The cards will let users familiar with the Altera architecture prototype dense ASIC and system designs.

The Standin SX system uses replaceable, laser-programmed, solid metal wiring to provide interconnect between devices. This claims to eliminate the signal delays associated with the crossbar switches found in today's emulation systems. SX component cards let users configure and evaluate complex designs.

Users can select component cards that include the Altera Flex 10K50 or the Flex 10K100. The latter card provides as many as 600,000 gates. Altera component card prices start at $1,030.
