PARIS – NXP Semiconductors NV and Delphi Automotive plc have announced an agreement to develop solutions for car infotainment and electronic controls. Under the terms of the agreement, Delphi said it has selected NXP's SAF775x family of devices for use targeting car radio and audio systems.
NXP claimed the SAF775x devices are the industry’s first multi-tuner RFCMOS one-chip with embedded AM, FM, and DAB tuners. They integrate DSP cores for audio and radio processing, sample-rate converters and digital analog audio output to enhance listening clarity and noise suppression while reducing multipath channel effect.

"This collaboration agreement serves to strengthen a long-standing strategic alignment between Delphi and NXP," stated Troy Zerbe, vice president of Global Supply Management for Delphi’s Electronics & Safety division. "Through this collaboration agreement, we can work to develop and manufacture electronics that are ever smarter, smaller, lighter and more efficient."
