LONDON – Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. has announced it has acquired Nvelo Inc. (Santa Clara, Calif.), a developer of software to manage solid-state disk (SSD) storage subsystems.
SSD caching is becoming important in both consumer and enterprise computing, Samsung said. The plan is to merge Nvelo's software with Samsung's NAND0-based SSDs.
The acquisition involves all technology and personnel under Nvelo Inc. but further details of the agreement, including the price, were not disclosed.
