IMS2012: Show in review

Another successful IMS2012 played out June 19-21, in Montréal, Canada. The venue was unique, and the food was delicious. Although I did not get to see much of the Montreal area, I did get to walk around “Old Montreal” which was very quaint and enjoyable.
As for the show, the exhibit floor seemed as busy as usual (at time of this posting, the attendance numbers were not yet available). Some vendors reported fewer visits but more qualified visitors (meaning they swiped their card for later contact), and others had the impression that it was about as good as Baltimore (the 2011 venue).

In addition, the ADF4159 contains a 25-bit fixed modulus as well as on-chip functionality to generate highly linear ramp profiles, making it an well suited for FMCW radar applications, including automotive radar systems, microwave Point-to-Point (PtP) systems, communications instrumentation and test equipment. ADI 12-bit DDS targets frequency-hopping applications
ADI’s programmable DDS ICs, the 3.5 GSPS AD9914 and 2.5 GSPS AD9915, offer up to 64-bit resolution, direct pin-access, and fast frequency tuning for precision communications systems. Coupled with an on-chip, high-speed, 12-bit D/A converter, ADI's AD9914 achieves a speed of 3.5 giga samples per second (GSPS), while the AD9915 runs to 2.5 GSPS. Both device cores support advanced digital programmable technology capable of synthesizing frequency-agile, analog output sinusoidal waveforms at up to 1.4 GHz, such as those used in a wide range of communications applications, such as wireless base stations, defense and commercial radar, and secure communications systems.
