VPT Inc. has recently introduced the SVGA0515 Series of high reliability radiation-hardened hybrid DC-DC converters for the harsh radiation environment of space applications.
The SVGA0515 Series is qualified to MIL-PRF-38534 Class H and Class K and MIL-STD-883. It delivers up to 50W of output power, is radiation hardened to 100 krads (Si) including Enhanced Low Dose Rate Sensitivity (ELDRS) and is characterized to SEE of 85 MeV-cm²/mg.
In a discussion with Military/Aerospace Designline, VPT agreed to produce a product slideshow that clearly and simply outlines the SVGA0515 S converter’s main features, compliances and certifications, targeted applications, etc.

The usage of these converters is so wide that it's higher cost compare to its predecessors is not really important. It's performance characteristics with no dropouts, burn outs or shutdowns is something unique and still highly efficient and useful.
