Setting up a home network has a lot of advantages, but to date it is not a simple set up. Windows 7 has a useful feature to alleviate this problem. The feature, called "HomeGroup", lets you share content, such as pictures, music, videos, documents, and printers, to other computers running Windows 7 in the home. This method makes it easier to share material throughout the home.

A detailed how-to guide was posted on PCMag.com for people who have migrated to Windows 7 already (see link below). The basic steps include:
- Control Panel/Network and Internet/Network and Sharing Center (ensure you are using the Home network or the set up will not work)
- Homegroup and Sharing Options and click Create
- Choose the types of media to share with the HomeGroup
- Record the password Windows 7 provides to set up the other PCs

It is as simple as that, and you have a networked system in your home.
