Energy harvesting for wireless sensor networks

3/20/2009 4:09 PM EDT

The use of sensor networks has increased in many different settings, including industrial. The need to power the sensors all these networks can be very troublesome, especially if the manufacturing plant does not have the appropriate wiring installed. The less communication and power cables to route and/or trip over, the better. If the need to change the batteries was also eliminated, better still.

In this technical paper, Cymbet talks about how their energy harvesting transducers can help build a zero power wireless network.
