PARIS - iWatt Inc said it has expanded its PrimAccurate platform with the introduction of the iW1761 and iW1762 digital pulse width modulation (PWM) controllers.

The company (Campbell, Calif.) claims iW1761 achieves 10-mW no-load standby in 12W power supplies while iW1762 achieves 20mW no-load standby in 24W power supplies.

The iW1761 is designed for chargers and adapters in portable electronics such as smart phones and media tablets. The iW1762 targets power adapters in networking equipment and monitors, iWatt noted.

iWatt claims its iW1761 and iW1762 digital pulse width modulation (PWM) controllers reduce no-load standby power consumption and improve efficiency in 12W to 24W power adapter and charger applications. The iW1761 is said to lower standby power draw to less than 10mW in 12W power supplies and the iW1762 to lower standby power to under 20mW in 24W power supplies.
