I've been meeting with companies and individuals in the RF/microwave industry for more than 15 years. While there seems to be an abundance of great companies in this market, there are a few that stand out because they have been fortunate enough to gather some extremely gifted talent. Last week, if you asked me to name some of these companies, I would have included National Instruments (NI) and AWR Corporation towards the top of my list. That is why I greeted with glee today the news that the companies are joining forces.
I for one, cannot wait to see what they accomplish together. And, to top things off, NI also announced today it is acquiring Phase Matrix, Inc. which also recently expanded into the PXI form factor, a hallmark of NI territory.
What do you think of this news? If you could ask NI for something off of your wish list, what would you have them make next?

RF and microwave are in deed highly a narrow and tall sector of technology. The virtual instrument company NI has wi-fi and wirless products in the market. NI acuiring of wirless companies indicates that more of RF/microwave based products will be introduced in the market soon. We can expect in few more years the wire cable usage will reduce and also their related modems and accessories.
