The mor1kx OpenRISC processor.
The mor1kx OpenRISC processor is a OpenRISC 1000 compliant softcore microprocessor written in Verilog and developed by the digital design engineer Julius Baxter.
Developers wanted to provide a code base that would be friendly to multiple pipeline implementations, encouraging a high degree of reuse of common blocks. This project initially saw the development of three different pipelines, each providing a different tradeoff between area and performance. The most high-end pipeline has been honed to contain more features and better performance than the original OR1K processor, the OR1200.
