That Papilio One is a nice board

I really like the Papilio One board -- lots of I/O, easy to download over USB, and at US$38 for the 250K version it's IMO the best value out there for FPGA development.

Elon Musk may not have originated open source hardware, but he is one of the few rare business leaders that recognizes the advantages of pushing ideas forward instead of expending all of his energy defending from the rear. This is a refreshing change in a world where tech companies employ armies of lawyers to defend trivial patents and companies like Disney push political buttons to maintain copyrights that should have long ago moved into the public domain. Kudos to Mr. Musk for having faith in the future and the guts to act on that faith.
