XeTel names Dallas manager
XeTel Corp., an Austin, Texas-based contract electronics manufacturer has named David A. Bibeau general manager of the company's Dallas manufacturing operations. Prior to joining XeTel, Bibeau was director of operations for Current Technology, a division of Danaher Corp.
K*TEC wins quality recommendation
K*TEC Electronics Corp., the CEM subsidiary of Kent Electronics Corp., Houston, has been recommended for QS-9000 certification-a requirement to manufacture automotive products. "The certification will open many new doors for K*TEC and allow us to continue diversifying our customer and product base," said Kevin Sauer, corporate quality director for K*TEC.
EFTC expands services group
EFTC Corp., a Denver-based CEM, has expanded its Services Group, which provides repair and warranty services, as well as build-to-order distribution from air-hub locations. Andy Hatch has been named vice president of operations, reporting to Allen Braswell Jr., president of EFTC Services. Mike Thorn has been named site operations director in Memphis, Tenn. Joe Quinn has been named site operations director in Louisville, Ken.
Sanmina has PCB certification
San Jose-based Sanmina Corp., a CEM and manufacturer of printed-circuit boards, has received Bellcore's Certification Assessment for the Physical Design Certification of Bare PCBs for its plant in Mountain View, Calif. Bellcore will continue to monitor the facility for a two-year certification support period.
