SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Nvidia Corp. here continued its run in the graphics-IC market, as the company's products and execution strategy propelled it to record revenues and earnings.
Net income for Nvidia's third fiscal 2000 quarter jumped 49% to $10.6 million, while revenue also soared 49% to $97 million, compared with the same quarter a year ago.
Earning per share reached 29 cents, topping the estimate of 23 cents held by three investment analysts surveyed by First Call Corp.
"We are pleased with our third-quarter financial results given the challenges the industry faced during the quarter," said Jen-Hsun Huang, president and CEO of Nvidia. "And I am particularly pleased with our strategic position in the market. Our market momentum, deep pipeline of new products, intense focus on execution have positioned us for strong growth."
