Richardson Electronics Inc., LaFox, Ill., has signed a U.S. distribution agreement with Samsung Electronics to sell Samsung's high-end TFT monitors, including the SyncMaster MP, Samsung's three-in-one TV-TFT monitor.
The agreement provides Samsung with an outlet for high-end custom and value-added customer applications, using Richardson's Display Systems Group to modify the Samsung monitors according to customer needs. These may include custom multi-media applications or graphic display requirements for medical equipment and walls of display terminals for stock market applications.
"As the world's No. 1 manufacturer of TFT displays, has the technological ability to offer new solutions and ultra high-end displays to the financial and medical community," said Mark Donnelly, vice president of sales for Samsung's Digital Information Systems Division. "Using this partnership, Richardson Electronics will be able to provide its customers with a wide array of Samsung displays, while utilizing its own support experience and display expertise."

Richardson is positioned as a global provider of engineered solutions, offering a full line of products of CRT and LCD display monitors, custom workstations, high-resolution graphic card, video test equipment and CRT replacements. Richardson's Display Systems Group focuses on medical, financial, flight information, public information, industrial, POS displays and replacement CRTs for third-party repair organizations.
Richardson also offers a full line of integrated services as part of its "engineered solutions," including touch-screen integration for both CRT and LCD products and other custom solutions that can't be provided by "off-the-shelf" products.
