Vishay Intertechnology Inc., Malvern, Pa., today announced a new line of multi-layer ferrite beads, negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistors, and ultra-low-TCR precision voltage dividers.
The new multilayer ferrite beads reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) for high-current dc power line applications in a wide variety of end products. The Vishay Dale ILHB series, available in 0603, 0805, 1206, 1806, and 1812 cases, features a magnetically self-shielded design with a nickel barrier plating that virtually eliminates silver migration, the company claimed.
Impedance options range from 50 ohms to 1,300 ohms, with maximum DCR ratings of 0.01 to 0.30 ohm. Maximum current specifications range from 500 mA to 6 A. With an operating temperature range of --25??C to +85??C, the surface-mount ferrite beads provide reliable operation in applications ranging from telecommunications systems to computers and automobiles.
The new NTC thermistors are suited for temperature measurement, control, and compensation applications in communications, automotive, computer, and instrumentation applications. The Vishay Dale NTHS thermistors feature extended values and high-density monolithic construction with a nickel barrier conductor.
The NTHS series is provided in 0603, 0805, 1206, and 1012 package types with solderable wraparound terminations. Standard resistance values range from 220 ohms to 330 kilohms, with five curve options providing temperature coefficients of resistance of -4.4%, -3.83%, -3.5%, -4.68%, and -4.54% respectively.
Vishay touted the NTHS line as a miniaturized, surface-mount alternative to through-hole components that promotes design flexibility with hybrid circuitry.
The new ultra-low-TCR precision voltage dividers, each of which combines two resistors in a single package, will serve in test and measurement, navigation and guidance, process control, telecom, robotics, and other low-noise analog applications requiring ultra-precision performance with minimal board space.
According to Vishay, the VSMD1505 Foil Resistors series is the industry's first surface-mount voltage divider family to combine ratio tracking as low as 0.1 ppm/??C with ratio match tolerances as low as ?? 0.005%. These resistors are built on Vishay's proprietary Bulk Metal Foil technology. Six standard resistance value ratios from 1:1 (10 kilohms/10 kilohms) to 1:20 (500 ohms/10 kilohms) are available.
An extremely low absolute temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of less than 5 ppm/??C ensures that temperature changes will have no effect on the voltage point, even in high-ratio devices, according the company.
