Manufacturers Services Ltd., said today it has signed an agreement with Honeywell Aerospace Electronics Systems to make circuit card assemblies for high-end commercial and private aviation products.
MSL, a Concord, Mass., EMS company, will provide Honeywell Aerospace with electronics design, test and production services at its Arden Hills, Mich., facility, which specializes in complex, high-mix electronics manufacturing. Honeywell Aerospace is a division of Honeywell International. Financial terms of MSL's deal with the Phoenix, Ariz.,-based avionics company were not disclosed.
Partnering with Honeywell will help boost MSL's exposure to the avionics sector. Avionics is a niche market for certain EMS companies because it offers fairly attractive profit margins despite being a slower growth market, according to a report by Randall Sherman, an analyst at New Venture Research Corp. in San Francisco.
