Building on the success of a pilot program, LG Electronics Inc. will implement E2open's product collaboration offering to coordinate its design process.
LG, one of the 10 founders of the industry-led marketplace E2open, intends to use the platform to connect design teams globally and interact with suppliers and customers, said E2open's president and chief executive Mark Holman.
"E2open will be an important tool for LG Electronics to globally collaborate and make decisions starting from the product design process to R&D, among strategicpartners and foreign buyers," said Ho-Jin Hwang, LG's chief procurement officer, in a statement.
"E2open's innovative approach to business process management
will bring immediate improvements in virtual meetings and directly-shared designs and drawings," he added.
Holman said LG began piloting the tools last winter, and will roll it out on worldwide basis in the next couple of months. Holman could not say which suppliers LG would be working with or what product families would be targeted.
