Manufacturers' Services Ltd. today tapped the ranks of a larger EMS competitor to name Robert Bradshaw as its new chief executive and president, effective January 7.
Bradshaw will replace Kevin Melia, a founder of the Concord, Mass. company, who will remain on as MSL's chairman.
For the past two years, Bradshaw has been president and chief operating officer of SCI Systems Inc., which this month merged with Sanmina Inc. in the EMS industry's largest-ever acquisition. His departure was announced by Sanmina-SCI earlier this week.
"Bob's vast experience in the EMS industry along with his OEM product manufacturing knowledge makes him the ideal executive to lead MSL in the next phase of the company's growth," said Melia in a released statement.
Separately, MSL announced today that Bob Donahue will resign as MSL's chief operating officer as of March 29 to pursue other interests. Donahue will provide transitional leadership for approximately 90 days reporting to Bradshaw, the company said.
