The deadline is looming for electronics companies to take on undergraduates for work experience through the STEP Solutions: Electronic Engineering scheme.
Companies that want to take on graduates for summer work placements should contact STEP by 30 June.
A representative of STEP said: "There are plenty of places left, and there is still time to take part."
However, while the deadline for summer-only placements is near, companies interested in taking on undergraduates for year-long placements have until September to apply.
STEP offers the opportunity for 500 companies a year to take on students. The scheme's backers claim that companies can make a six-fold return on an average investment of £800.
The £1.4 million scheme is supported by EMTA, the national training organisation for engineering manufacture, and is funded by the Department of Trade and Industry and the Communication Industries Directorate.
