MANHASSET, N.Y. Disk drive supplier Maxtor Corp. has appointed Duston Williams, a former executive at rival Western Digital Corp., as executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Williams, 46, spent 13 years at Western Digital, including four as chief financial officer. Williams has also served as CFO for several startup companies including Netigy Corp., Rhapsody Networks, and Aruba Wireless Networks.
Williams succeeds Michael Bless, who left in October, and joins C.S. Park, who replaced Paul Tufano as chief executive earlier this month, as the new executive team attempts to improve Maxtor's fortunes in a disk drive market plagued by falling prices and bulging inventories.
