SAN JOSE, Calif. Mentor Graphics on Tuesday (Jan. 11) preannounced that its fourth quarter revenue and bookings will exceed previous guidance.
According to a statement, revenue and bookings for Mentor's fourth quarter reached record levels. Revenues were expected to exceed analysts' consensus of $204 million and bookings up 40 percent year over year. The company also said its backlog grew 25 percent over the fourth quarter of 2003.
The company said that fourth quarter special charges are expected to result in GAAP-basis earnings below guidance. Earnings per share on a pro forma basis are expected to modestly exceed consensus estimates of $0.38 per share.
Mentor also said bookings in North America grew 15 percent, Europe grew 50 percent and Japan and the Pacific Rim both grew 100 percent over the fourth quarter of 2003.
Mentor Graphics is scheduled to officially announce earnings on Jan. 27.
