WASHINGTON Harris Corp. said Thursday (Jan. 20) it will continue supplying the Iraqi Media Network with systems integration and deployment support under a three-month, $22 million contract.
IMN is Iraq's public TV and radio network, which broadcasts from Baghdad and and more than 30 other locations in the country.
Harris said funding for the expansion contract comes solely from the Iraqi government.
Harris (Melbourne, Fla.) said it completed work earlier this month on a previous contract with IMN awarded last year by the U.S. Defense Contracting Command.
Last year, Harris completed construction of a news studio and an entertainment studio in central Baghdad. The public television network, called Al Iraqiya, has a 24-hour news desk and other programming.
About 1,000 Iraqi citizens work at IMN.
