MANHASSET, N.Y. Silicon Image Inc. has appointed Steve Tirado president and chief executive in a management shakeup, replacing Steve Laub who held the position less than three months.
Silicon Image (Sunnyvale, Calif.) a supplier of digital semiconductors for high bandwidth communications, appointed Laub, formerly CEO of Lattice Semiconductor, president and chief executive in November. In resigning, Laub cited issues related to the scope of his role and responsibilities.
The company will now turn to Tirado, a member of Silicon Image's senior management team since 1999 who most recently served as president of the company's storage division. Tirado was Silicon Image's chief operating officer from Nov. 2000 to March 2004, and president from Jan. 2003 to March 2004.
Silicon Image also appointed Christopher Paisley as chairman, replacing David Lee who will remain on the company's board of directors and chair the company's PanelLink Cinema LLC subsidiary.
Separately, the company also announced its earnings for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ended Dec. 2004.
For the fourth quarter, Silicon Image posted a net loss of $0.1 million on sales of $46.1 million, compared to a loss of $5.3 million on sales of $30.3 million a year ago.
For 2004, Silicon Image posted a net loss of $0.3 million on sales of $173.2 million, compared to a net loss of $12.8 million on sales of $103.5 million a year ago.
