BANGALORE, India Wipro Technologies, the software development arm of India's Wipro Corp., is to develop next-generation mobile telecom solutions for SmartTrust AB, the Stockholm, Sweden-based GSM mobile solutions company.
"The demand for mobile device management solutions is booming even as device management is becoming more complex," said Paul Cuss, SmartTrust's chief executive, in a statement. "With this partnership with Wipro, we can expand our capacity so that we can deploy the solutions faster. This relationship is only a beginning, since Wipro's telecom solutions capabilities are much vaster and we could leverage those too in the future."
About 30 engineers from Wipro will be working on the SmartTrust account by the year-end.
SmartTrust customers in India include Bharti Televentures and Bharat Sancha Nigam Ltd., two of the largest GSM service providers in the country. SmartTrust expects to add to its customer list with India to soon account for a significant part of its revenue, according to company executives.
