MANHASSET, N.Y. Laurel Networks said Wednesday (May 18) it would continue a long-time technology relationship with troubled Marconi Corp. plc, even after Laurel was acquired by Israeli-based ECI Telecom Monday.
Marconi (London) and Laurel Networks (Pittsburgh, Pa.) have partnered on joint sales, marketing, and development of IP-based, multi-service routing technology since 2003. To date, this partnership has included multiple wins for Marconi with the U.S. government.
The two companies will continue to pursue opportunities in the US Federal market, enterprise customers worldwide, as well as service providers where appropriate.

Marconi announced a major reorganization and the loss of 800 jobs in the U.K., after failing in April to win any contracts in British Telecom's ambitious network upgrade project.
