SAN FRANCISCO Wind River Systems Inc. reported a net income of $1.9 million, or 2 cents per share, based on generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), for the first fiscal quarter of 2006, the company said Wednesday (May 25). The result represents a considerable improvement from the net loss of $3.8 million, or 5 cents per share, that Wind River reported for the first fiscal quarter of 2005.
The device software optimization provider reported total revenue for the first quarter, which ended April 30, of $61.8 million, up 17 percent over revenue from the year-ago quarter.
Wind River (Alameda, Calif.) said it was the 10th consecutive quarter of growth in its subscription revenue.
In a statement, Ken Klein, Wind River president, chairman and CEO, said, "We are succeeding in driving the market shift to device software optimization and the result is high-quality growth."
