SAN FRANCISCO EDA tool provider Ansoft Corp. Thursday (May 26) reported fiscal fourth quarter net income of $4.7 million, or 36 cents per diluted share on a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) basis, up 49 percent from the $2.8 million, or 21 cents per diluted share, that the company reported for the year-ago quarter.
For fiscal 2005, Ansoft's GAAP net income was $9.4 million, or 73 cents per share, an increase over the $2.6 million, or 19 cents per diluted share, that the company reported for fiscal 2004.
Ansoft's reported quarterly revenue of $21.7 million, an increase of 22 percent over the $17.8 million that the company reported for the fiscal fourth quarter of 2004. Revenue for fiscal 2005 totaled $67.7 million, up from $54.7 million in fiscal 2004.
In a statement, Nicholas Csendes, Ansoft president and CEO, said he was pleased with revenue and earnings for the quarter. "For the next fiscal year, we anticipate revenue growth of around 15 percent as well as increasing profitability of around 25 percent," Csendes said.
