SAN JOSE, Calif. Two rivals in the semiconductor-equipment subsystems market separately announced new chief executives.
Advanced Energy Industries Inc. (Fort Collins, Colo.) announced the appointment of technology industry veteran, Hans-Georg Betz, to the position of president and chief executive, effective August 1.
The company previously announced that Doug Schatz will retire from the chief executive position, and he will continue to serve on the board of directors as non-executive chairman.
Rival MKS Instruments Inc., a provider of process control technologies, said that John Bertucci has stepped down as chief executive.
Leo Berlinghieri, president of MKS (Wilmington, Mass.), has been named CEO. He was also named to MKS' board.
Bertucci is resigning his duties as CEO at the end of the calendar quarter on June 30. Berlinghier has served as president and chief operating officer since April 2004.
