SAN FRANCISCO Altera Corp. said Monday (July 18) it is now offering a faster speed grade for the two largest members of the Stratix II field-programmable gate array (FPGA) family.
Altera (San Jose, Calif.) said the new speed grade (-3) enables a 500-MHz internal clock frequency, a 20 percent speed increase compared with previous offerings. The company said it added the new speed grade to the EP2S130 and EP2S180 devices following their successful production qualification and yield.
The new -3 speed grade for EP2S130 and EP2S180 FPGAs is available now. Pricing information was not provided.
