MANHASSET, N.Y. Semiconductor supplier Microtune Inc. has named John Norsworthy, its founder and former chief technical officer, an executive advisor.
Over a decade ago, Norsworthy initiated the development of the RF tuner chip, which led to the founding of Microtune. He served as Microtune's chief technical officer from the company's inception in 1996 until his retirement in 2001.
Norsworthy is expected to provide high-level strategic advice to Microtune's chief executive and Board of Directors on emerging technical trends.
Before Microtune, Norsworthy was the vice president and general manager of Cirrus Logic's Consumer Video Products division. Norsworthy has also worked for Pixel Semiconductor, Visual Information Technologies, Mostek, and IBM.
