MANHASSET, N.Y. Wireless technology provider Qualcomm Inc. has increased its financial guidance for the fourth fiscal quarter and fiscal year ended Sept. 25, 2005.
Qualcomm (San Diego, Calif.) now anticipates sales of $1.48 to $1.58 billion, up 8 to 15 percent year-over-year, with pro-forma diluted earnings per share of 32 to 33 cents, up 7 to 10 percent year-over-year.
Previously, Qualcomm expected fourth fiscal quarter revenue of $1.43 to $1.53 billion, with pro forma diluted earnings per share of 29 to 31 cents.
According to the company, most of its licensees have reported royalties in our fourth fiscal quarter for products shipped in the June quarter. Based on these reports, Qualcomm estimates June quarter shipments of 48 million CDMA and WCDMA units at an average selling price of approximately $213, compared to our prior estimate of 43 to 45 million units for an average of $215.
"3G CDMA market momentum is strong," said Paul Jacobs, chief executive of Qualcomm, in a statement. "We are seeing strength across many geographies in shipments of 3G CDMA handsets. During the June quarter, both CDMA and WCDMA handset shipments increased sequentially in most regions of the world."
