SAN FRANCISCO Analog/mixed-signal intellectual property (IP) supplier True Circuits Inc. Thursday (Sept. 22) introduced a line of phase-locked loop (PLL) hard macros said to provide frequency modulation and very-high-frequency resolution with more than 16 bits of control and low long-term jitter.
True Circuits (Los Altos, Calif.) said the PLL design delivers optimal jitter performance over all multiplication settings and can be configured to provide precise spread-spectrum behavior for system clock EMI reduction.
"Our new line of high-resolution PLLs has been carefully engineered with a combination of features that will provide our customers unparalleled implementation flexibility with a single, standardized hard macro," said John Maneatis, True Circuits' president, in a statement.
True Circuits said the high-resolution PLLs are available for customer delivery in the first quarter of 2006 in TSMC, UMC and Chartered CMOS processes from 0.25 micron to 65 nanometer. The hard macros are available for an undisclosed per-use license fee with no royalty fees, the company said.
