SAN FRANCISCO Analog/mixed-signal semiconductor supplier Semtech Corp. said Tuesday (Sept. 27) that the employment of President and CEO Jason Carlson has terminated by mutual agreement with the company and that Carlson has resigned as a member of Semtech's board of directors.
John "Jack" Poe, chairman of the board of directors, will serve as interim CEO until a permanent replacement has been identified, Semtech said. Poe previously served as CEO from October 1985 until October 2003.
"My focus in this interim role will be on the selection of new growth opportunities, a reduction in the time-to-market for new product introductions and, ultimately, a higher return on research and development spending," Poe said, in a statement. "I will also assist the board of directors in its search for a strong candidate to assume the CEO position."
Also Tuesday, Semtech (Camarillo, Calif.) reaffirmed guidance on results for its fiscal 2006 third quarter, which ends Oct. 30. Semtech expects net sales for the fiscal third quarter will be approximately $60 million, while earnings for the third quarter are forecast to be 13 cents per diluted share.
