MANHASSET, N.Y. Dallas-based RF wireless solutions provider RF Monolithics Inc. posted a loss of $0.2 million, or 3 cents per share on sales of $11.5 million in the fourth fiscal 2005 quarter ended Aug. 31, 2005, compared with net earnings of $0.56 million, or 7 cents per share, on sales of $12.5 million in year-ago quarter.
"Our fourth quarter profitability was affected by Delphi Corp.'s recent filing of reorganization under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code," said David M. Kirk, president and CEO of RF Monolithics, in a statement. Delphi accounted for 12% of RF Monolithics’ quarter sales.
For fiscal 2005, RF Monolithics posted sales of $46.2 million, down from $48.5 million in fiscal 2004. Net earnings were $0.48 million, or 6 cents per share compared with $2.2 million, or 27 cents per share in fiscal 2004.
For the first fiscal 2006 quarter, RF Monolithics expects sales to improve sequentially, with gross margin reaching 28 to 30 percent.
