MANHASSET, N.Y. Imaging systems supplier Analogic Corp. is laying off 40 employees of its Sky Computers subsidiary, according to a report in the Boston Business Journal.
Sky Computers (Peabody, Mass.) designs embedded signal processing systems used in military, industrial inspection, and other applications and reportedly employed 1,700 prior to the layoff. According to the report, Analogic said remaining Sky Computers employees will focus on selling and servicing existing products rather than new product development.
Analogic will reportedly pay $1 million in severance, part of $2.5 million in total expected charges including inventory write-downs.
