BANGALORE, India Israel’s Surf Communication Solutions, a developer of multimedia processing software and boards for telecoms infrastructure, has secured a fourth round of funding from several companies including Texas Instruments, Giza Venture Capital, and Pitango Venture Capital.
The funding, whose amount was not disclosed, will be used to expand the company’s presence in the North American market. Surf also plans to speed up its product development, including integration of its media processing enabling technologies with boards from other carrier manufacturers.
"For the past two years Surf has focused its strategy on areas of high market demand where we bring significant and unique added value," said Eyal Zagagi, president and CEO of Surf, in a statement. "These efforts have resulted in a focused strategy related to the Triple-Play market: combined voice and video media processing on a single DSP and packaged on integrated hardware/software platforms."
