MANHASSET, N.Y. Network semiconductor supplier Mindspeed Technologies Inc. posted a net loss of $4.3 million, or 4 cents per share on sales of $31.1 million for the fourth 2005 fiscal quarter ended Sept. 30, 2005. In the prior quarter, Mindspeed lost $9.5 million, or 9 cents per share on sales of $27.7 million.
Mindspeed (Newport Beach, Calif.) said sales met the high end of its projected guidance.
Sales of multiservice access voice-over-IP (VoIP) solutions declined 1 percent sequentially, accounting for 28 percent of revenue, while sales of high-performance analog devices grew 3 percent to comprise 23 percent of revenue. Sales of WAN communications products, including T/E carrier transmission devices and ATM/MPLS network processor solutions, increased 27 percent to comprise the remaining 49 percent of revenue.
For the first fiscal 2006 quarter ending December, Mindspeed expects revenue to be up 5 to 8 percent, with a pro-forma loss of $3 million.
