MANHASSET, N.Y. Power supplier Power-One Inc. said that supply shortages of its contract manufacturer are likely to lower sales in the first quarter, despite high demand.
Power-One (Camarillo, Calif.) now expects first-quarter revenue of $61 to $64 million, down from $65 to $68 million previously. About $4 million of the previously-planned revenue will roll over into the second quarter, the company said.
The company added that its 90-day backlog has increased 40 percent since the beginning of the first quarter, and plans inventory adjustments to meet an expected upsurge in second-quarter business.
Power-One expects second-quarter 2006 sales of $70 to $75 million. For the full 2006 year, the company has reaffirmed sales will increase 10 to 15 percent over 2005.
