MANHASSET, N.Y. Fabless semiconductor supplier Monolithic Power Systems Inc. posted earnings of $3.8 million, or 12 cents per share on sales of $32.5 million in its fourth 2005 fiscal quarter, compared with $0.7 million, or 2 cents per share on sales of $14.8 million in the year-ago fourth quarter.
For 2005, Monolithic Power (Los Gatos, Calif.) reported revenue of $99.1 million, up from $47.6 million for 2004. Full 2005 year net earnings were $5.1 million, or 17 cents per share, compared with a GAAP net loss of $4.9 million or 54 cent per share in 2004.
"Strong revenue growth, excellent margins and more market penetration defined the fourth quarter," said MPS chief executive Michael Hsing, in a statement. "Our revenues increased across all our product families during the quarter and were up 10% sequentially and 120 percent year-over-year."
For the first fiscal 2006 quarter ending March 31, Monolithic Power expects sales of $24 million to $25 million, with gross margin of 58 to 63 percent.
