MANHASSET, N.Y. Component supplier Bel Fuse Inc. has joined the Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA), an industry initiative promoting distribution of digital video content through coaxial cable.
Bel Fuse (Jersey City, N.J.) is developing a series of MoCA-compliant RF diplexers and related devices for incorporation inside MoCA products and at the point of entry of MoCA-enabled homes. The components will enable homeowners to transmit high-definition video, voice, and data between TVs, set-top boxes, DVRs, game boxes, WiFi repeaters, and PCs, on existing in-home coaxial wiring and splitters.
"Joining MoCA and developing diplexers around the MoCA standard is a significant aspect of Bel's strategic plans for growth within the broadband home network market," said Lee Hancock, product manager for Bel's broadband and telecom products. "We're focused on the revenue potential of these products and anticipate that, with this exciting new initiative, we're ideally positioned to become a major player in this burgeoning arena."
